

Carl Dewitt "Spud" Daughdrill, 89 years of age, passed away peacefully to his Heavenly home on Saturday, January 25, 2014. He was born on April 20, 1924 in Leaf, Greene County, MS. Carl was a lifelong resident of Mobile, AL. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Tillman's Corner. Carl was a World War II veteran of the Army Air Corps and retired from Ingall's in 1986. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Jewel Miller (Frederick) of Wilmer, AL, Evie Turner (Ira), of Leakesville, MS, and Erin Sorey (Lex) of Baton Rouge, LA; and brother, DeVan Daughdrill (Anne) of Lucedale, MS. Carl Daughdrill is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Jewel Welford Daughdrill; son, Stephen Daughdrill (Connie) of Mobile; daughter, Deborah Gardner (Robert) of Houston, TX; grandchildren, Brad Daughdrill (Becca), of Tuscaloosa, AL, Brent Daughdrill (Kim) of Mobile, Allen Gardner of Auburn, AL, and Carla Gardner of Houston, TX; sister, Mary Ball of Sumrall, MS; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, "Millie." Visitation will be held at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Friday from 12 noon to 2 PM. Funeral services will be held from the funeral home chapel on Friday, January 31, 2014 at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
