

Carl Edward Ishee, a Dauphin Island native and Fowl River resident, died April 14th 2017 at the age 60. After serving four years in the U.S Navy as a Seabee, he did small construction jobs until eventually owning his own business, Dauphin Island Construction. He was proud of his Dauphin Island heritage. He lived and raised his family on the island. Carl was a proud Pawpaw to his grand kids and loved his family very much. He loved riding his motorcycle and having his “Knees in the Breeze.” He was affectionately called Guido by his closest friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Oscar Ishee of Bayou La Batre; mother, Geraldine Patronas Simodel of Dauphin Island; son, Jonathan Lee Ishee of Dauphin Island; and step-son, Michael Brandon Finch of Irvington. He is survived by his son, Justin Edward (Melissa) Ishee of Dauphin Island; step-son, Thomas Mack Finch (Tracy); sister, Machelle F. Steiner (Woodrow) of Dauphin Island; brother, Glen D. Simodel of Dauphin Island; four granddaughters, Ansleigh Nicole Ishee, Abigail Leigh Ishee, Lauren Elizabeth Ishee, Katie Grace Allen (Ashley Pyle Allen); three grandsons, Brandon Riley Finch, Thomas Ashton Finch and Jayden Carl Finch; two Nieces Natalie Marie Wilson, Kendra Nicole Wilson and nephew Mathew Shaun Steiner of Dauphin Island. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Dauphin Island United Methodist Church on Saturday, April 22, 2017, at noon. Family and friends will be received until 3pm for fellowship.
