Carlos “Curly” Lacey – an 85 year-old native of Mobile, Alabama and longtime resident of Wilmer, Alabama passed away at his home on Monday, August 5, 2024. A proud veteran of the Vietnam War, he retired from the United States Air Force as a Master Sergeant after 26 years of service. Proud of his work, he retired from the telecommunications industry after 30 years of service, during which time he displayed his strong work ethic. Mr. Lacey was very strong in his Christian faith.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Enda Leona Lacey, and son, Carlos E. Lacey, II. Mr. Lacey is survived by his children, Pam Balmas, and Tina Turnipseed (Terry); grandchildren, Desrae Richard (Ray), William Balmas, Christie Cauthen (Derek), Brandi Morgan (Kenneth), Jennifer Johnson, Anna Wheland (Leonard), Kayla Alvarado-Mata (Adelpho), William Wendt, Courtney Lacey, and Connor Lacey; 18 great-grandchildren; great, great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
