Carol is survived by her three children: Larry Edge, Billy Edge (Lonya), and Amy Bruce (Tom); her grandchildren: Joel Bruce, Hannah Bruce, Sydney Grace Edge, and EmmaLarson Edge; her brother Andrew (Kathy), as well as many nieces, nephews, friends, and chosen family members.
She is preceded in death by her husband Larson Edge, her parents Andrew and Ruby Jackson, and her sister Deborah Wilkinson.
Carol went by many “names” in her life: Peach, Sweet Pea, Coach, Mama Edge, and (maybe her favorite) Grandmama. She was a breast cancer survivor, but most importantly she was a child of God.
Carol was a long-time member of Spring Hill Baptist Church and loved her time there as the Education Secretary. She also served in various ministries of the church, teaching Vacation Bible School, chaperoning youth choir trips, and singing in the adult choir.
Her family would like to thank the staff of Palm Gardens Health and Rehabilitation for their care over the past four years, especially Lisa, Rita, and the aides that attended to her needs.
Friends and family are invited to attend her home going service at Radney Funeral Home – Mobile on Saturday, August 26, 2023 Visitation is at 9:00 AM followed by the service at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Pine Crest Cemetery West, Mobile, AL/. Her pallbearers are Joel Bruce, Vann Carter, Ward Edge, Mike Manning, Tommy Robinson, and James Twilley.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Susan G. Komen or the International Mission Board (IMB) of the Southern Baptist Convention.
