Carolyn Corine Ibsen, a lifelong resident of Mobile, Alabama passed away peacefully on August 31st 2024 at The Retreat Hospice by SAAD in Mobile Alabama surrounded by her loving family. Carolyn was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and aunt whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of all who knew her.
She is survived by her beloved husband Kent Ibsen, and her three sons, Randy Smith (Pam), Drake Ibsen (Michelle), and Blake Ibsen. Carolyn was also a mother in heart to her bonus son, Ronnie Berryhill (Tonya). She leaves behind her cherished sister, Gloria Williams, and brother Louie Smith.
She was a proud grandmother to Justin Smith (Ashley), Rick Newsome (Brittany), Tyler Smith, Cole Ibsen (Karstin), and Lennon Ibsen.
Her legacy of love continues through her great grandchildren, Lane Smith, Railey Smith, Alaina Smith, Jaime Lynn Smith, Oakley Newsome, Jonathan Bodiford, and Reed Newsome.
In addition to her immediate family, she leaves behind numerous beloved nieces, nephews, and extended family, all of whom were touched by her generosity, strength, and unwavering love.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy and Douglas Smith, her brother, Darnell Smith, her sister-in-law, Barbara-Ann Smith, and her brother in-law Henry “Cookie” Williams.
Pallbearers are Justin Smith, Tyler Smith, Cole Ibsen, Lane Smith, Ronnie Berryhill, Danny Smith.
Carolyn will be deeply missed, but her spirit and the many beautiful memories she created will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
A graveside service will be held at Pine Crest Cemetery on Wednesday September 4th at 1:00 in the afternoon.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice Retreat Center by SAAD in Carolyn’s honor. This facility holds a special place in the hearts of Carolyn’s family members as they provided a peaceful setting and excellent care for Carolyn during her last days.
