Carolyn Elizabeth Locke Lancaster

Carolyn was a compassionate and devoted mother, daughter, wife and friend. A graduate of Murphy High School, she spoke often and fondly of her days as a member of ADK, and she shared many happy stories of her friends. She attended The University of Montevallo.

She was an avid doll collector, voracious reader, and was active in several dog clubs. She bred Shetland Sheepdogs and ran them in agility trials where her beloved dogs earned numerous titles.

She is survived by her four children, Melissa (Ned) Harkins; David (Tara); Caroline (Ken) Langworthy; Mary-Allison (Andy) Bauer; 10 grandchildren and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Dent Lancaster, Jr. (Denny); her parents Gladys B. Locke and Arnold A. Locke; brother Arnold A. Locke, Jr.; granddaughter Isabella Rose Lancaster.

Mass will be held Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2016 at 11 a.m. at St. Dominic Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Pine Crest Funeral Homes and Cemeteries.
