Carolyn Ann Odom

July 27, 1939December 1, 2019

Carolyn Ann Odom, Age 80, passed away unexpectedly on December 1, 2019. She was predeceased by her husband, of 39 years, J. Larry Odom. Ann was the middle child of the late Homer and Debitha Shurlds Watkins, Sr. She was predeceased by her brother, Homer “Sonny” Watkins. Survivors include her daughter, Tracy Suzanne (Rick) Pietri; son, Jay Larry (Elaine) Odom; her grandchildren, Wesley Ryan (Emily) Pietri, Jordan Richard Pietri, Jonathan Larry Odom and Dylan Preston Odom; brother, Larry Shurlds (Kitty) Watkins, Jr. of Big Sandy, TX. Ann was born in Jackson, MS. on July 27, 1939. She graduated from the University of Southern Miss. with a degree in Music Education and was a Delta Zeta. She married and moved to Mobile, AL., in 1961 and has lived in Mobile ever since. She was a 2nd grade teacher at Orchard Elementary School for 27 years. Ann was a loving Mother and Grandmother. Ann was a longtime member of Spring Hill Baptist Church where she helped establish the Church Music Department. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at Radney Funeral Home, Mobile, AL. Graveside Service will be held at 12:00 p.m. at Pine Crest West Cemetery, Mobile, AL.
