
Cecil C. Adams- A native of Perdido, AL and resident of Mobile, who died on September 26 aged 93, spent his life in the company of family and friends who loved him dearly. An avid fisherman, C.C. was known for his straightforward approach to life, his loyalty, and an unmistakable laugh that spoke of his kind heart.
Arriving in Mobile on the heels of the Great Depression, Mr. Adams began a vocation in sales that led to a 34-year career with the Coca-Cola Bottling Company. Of his accomplishments in sales and management, Mr. Adams took great pride in helping organized labor become a reality at Coca-Cola.
He had the good fortune of meeting someone he loved, Meeta McMichael, and they were married in 1941. They had one daughter, Dorothy. He was an active member of the community, serving as an elder at Westside Methodist Church and was later a member of Christ United Methodist Church. After retiring, he enjoyed traveling with Meeta throughout the United States and Europe.
Mr. Adams was preceded in death by his parents William and Dora; his brother and sisters Houston, Vivian, Norma, and Vera; and his wife of 64 years Meeta. He is survived by his daughter Dorothy (Bill) Vaughn; his brothers and sister Alfred, Ronald, and Anne; his grandchildren Blakley (Greg) Howe and William Hobie Vaughn.
Graveside services will be held for family and friends October 1 at 10 AM, Pine Crest Cemetery. Senior Pastor Jeff Spiller of Christ United Methodist Church will officiate. Memorials can be made to Christ United Methodist Church. Arrangements by Ascension Funeral Service.
