Charles Daniel Mathers

Charles Daniel Mathers, age 71, and native of Mobile, AL, passed away on Friday, July 18, 2014. He is preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Faith Lathan and sister, Dorothy Byrd. Mr. Mathers was a longtime employee in the maintenance department of Mobile County, retiring after 24 years of service. He was a member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church and will be remembered by his family as a loving brother and uncle. Mr. Mathers is survived by his sister, Barbara (Pat) Bonner and brother, Carl “Bubba” (Linda) Mathers). He also leaves to cherish his memory, nieces and nephews, Ricky Bonner, Frankie (Angie) Bonner, Phillip and Benjamin (Gin) Mathers, Scott (Ginger) and Keith (Rebecca) Ammons and great-nieces and nephew, John and Natalie Bonner and Skylar and Ryland Ammons. The family wishes to express their gratitude to Dr. Gerhart Boehm and the physicians and nursing staff of Mobile Infirmary for their care of Charles. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 21, 2014 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Springhill Memorial Gardens, Mobile, AL.
