Charles Hubert Snow passed away the morning of September 24, 2021 in Mobile, AL. He was born on December 17, 1936 in Uriah, AL. Charlie, as everyone called him, was a humble, caring, hard-nose but loving husband, father and grandfather. He graduated from Baker High School in 1955 and joined the Air Force the same year where he worked in radar inspection. He boarded the USS Breckinridge in 1956 to Japan working in electronics. He left the Air Force Reserves in 1958 and started school at Alabama Polytechnic Institute before the name was changed to Auburn University where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering in only three and a half years in 1962. Once graduated, he began working for the Ground Electronic Installation Agency (GEEIA) at Brookley Field where he travelled the world performing maintenance on radars, including Antigua, Brazil, Greenland, Germany, and Puerto Rico just to name a few. He married Angie Poiroux in 1963 and started his family. He later began working at the Corps of Engineers in 1968 as the Chief of Hydropower and managed hydropower dams across the southeastern U.S. He retired with tremendous admiration from his colleagues after 28 years in 1995. He got back into the workforce in 1997 at Millard Austin performing utility inspection and retired fully in 2007. He spent nearly 15 years in retirement hunting, watching football, and enjoying life with his family who he loved so deeply. He was preceded in death by his parents Theo Hubert Snow and Luverne Gregson Snow. He is survived by his wife, Angie Poiroux Snow, of 58 years, his four children, Rhonda Southerland (Richard), Jason Snow (Shannon), Justin Snow (Debbie), and Jill Hartley (Neil), his eight grandchildren, Ashton Gibbs, Kaitlin Fountain (Corey), Charles Southerland, Jake Snow, Jillian Fuller, Kate Snow, Isabella Fuller, and Braxton Fuller, his four great-grandchildren, Nathan Gibbs, Kennedy Fountain, Layla Gibbs, and Cade Fountain, his brother, John Snow, and his sister, Marcia Robertson. He was a role model and provider who always put his family first. He led by example and shaped them into who they are today. Charlie Snow will be greatly missed by his loving family.
