Charles Ray Turner

Charles was a man who took great pride in everything he worked for. He was especially proud of the businesses he helped build, the home he created, and the life he was able to provide for his family. His home meant so much to him, and he was proud of what he had accomplished through years of hard work, determination, and love.

He loved fishing and sports of all kinds, but basketball held a special place in his heart. He was a proud fan of the LA Lakers, the Los Angeles Rams, and the Alabama Crimson Tide. Whether he was watching a game, talking sports, or spending time fishing, those were some of the things that brought him happiness.

But above everything else, his greatest love was his family.

Charles loved his children and grandchildren deeply and was incredibly proud of each of them. His love did not stop with the children who were biologically his. He had a heart big enough to love, guide, and help raise children who came into his life, including Hanna Grissett and William Rice, whom he loved as his own. Being a father figure was simply a part of who he was.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Ollie Mae Sullivan; his father, Robert Turner; his sister, Brenda Broadus; and his niece, Juliesa Kendrick.

He is survived by his five children, Eric Turner, Adrian Turner, Baleigh Turner, Chance Turner, and Jessica Gustafson; as well as Amanda Carter (daughter-in-law) and Carlos Hernandez (son-in-law). And his beloved grandchildren, Austin Turner, Jackson Turner, Greyson Turner, Jet Turner, Mason Hernandez, Michael Hernandez, and Morgan Hernandez.

He is also survived by his brothers and sisters, Paul Turner, Dooley Turner, Mary McCord, and Lisa Hamblin, along with many other family members and friends who loved him dearly.

His legacy will not only be measured by the businesses he helped build or the things he accomplished, but by the people he loved, the children he raised, the family he provided for, and the memories he left behind. His absence leaves a space that can never truly be filled, but the love, lessons, stories, and memories he gave us will remain forever.

He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
