Charles Bascom Watts passed away on July 30, 2021 at the age of seventy-five. He was able to watch his family grow and blossom in his hometown of Semmes, Alabama, and that was everything he could have asked for in this life (other than Alabama football winning every national championship for eternity). He served others with a humble and intentional type of love that was felt just in his presence. This love is what serves as the roots of Charles’ family, holding us all together.
Charles is survived by his beautiful wife of 57 years, Patricia Rackley Watts. He was a proud father to two daughters: Theresa Watts LeCroy (Randall) and Lisa Watts Hokanson, and three grandchildren: Paige Emerson (Chris), Alicia Perkins (Cody), and Branna Hokanson. He was blessed with three great-grandchildren: Aimie and Caiden Perkins and Lawson Emerson. He was also survived by siblings Frances Dunnam, Gloria Ikner, and Melba Martin (Buddy).
Charles was preceded in death by his father, Bascom Bethea Watts, mother, Lula Estelle McLain Watts, and three siblings: Henry Bethea Watts, James Rudolph Watts, and Bonnie Pearl Watts Sumrall.
