Charlotte Marie Arndt

She is survived by her son, Robert William Hyde Jr,(Glynis). Two grandchildren, Robert William Hyde III, (Kristy), and Jennifer Elizabeth Hyde. Two great grandchildren, Addison Marie Hyde, and Robert William Hyde IV, a surviving brother, Ronald Winslett, along with her stepchildren, Phyllis Hinnant (Ray), and Bruce Arndt (Ilona), and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert William Hyde Sr, and Phillip Arndt, parents, J. C. Winslett and Willie Lyons Winslett, and brother Wayne Winslett.

Charlotte graduated from Pepperell High School in Rome, Georgia where she was a star athlete. She was the captain of the basketball team and a member of the track team. She married her high school sweetheart, RW, and moved to Pensacola in 1956. She started working for Gulf Power Company where she worked over 30 + years until her retirement. During her work years, she attended night school and proudly obtained her associate degree from Pensacola Junior College, a bachelor’s degree from the University of West Florida and a master’s degree in counseling from Troy State University.

She was a member of East Hill Baptist Church in Pensacola and served in many lay positions until she moved to Mobile to be close to family. She joined Government Street Baptist Church and continued to serve the Lord. She loved her Sunday School Class, Dr. Brown’s bible study, playing dominos at church or traveling with her senior group. She was particularly close to her pastor, Scotty Jernigan, who she dearly loved and her partners in mischief, Betty Russell and John and Freida Baxley. Also, her amigos who sat with her in church, Betty and Jo Curd. They made her life fun and brought her great joy.

Visitation will be held at Radney Funeral Home, 3155 Dauphin Street, Mobile, AL 36606, on April 10, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm, followed by a Funeral Service at the same location from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. Committal will take place at Bayview Memorial Park, 3351 Scenic Highway 90E, Pensacola, FL 32503, on April 10, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 2:30 pm.
