Charlotte Norden Trussell

Mrs. Charlotte Norden Trussell, native of Mobile, AL, passed away on Monday, March 16, 2020. She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard R. Trussell and parents, Claude W. Norden and Alice Frances Carrington Norden.

Charlotte was a graduate of Murphy High School, Class of 1947 and served as secretary of the Class of ’47 Alumni Association. She retired after 42 years of service with the State of Alabama Unemployment Office, and was the first female manager appointed by former Governor, George Wallace. She was a member of the State of Alabama Retirement Association member of a local mystic society and a longtime member of Christ United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Trussell is survived by her children; Claudia Kelley White (Jimmy), Stephen Kelley (Janet), Sharon Kelley Combs (Terry) and step-son, Jerry Wayne Trussell (Craig). She is also survived by her grandchildren; Nichole Murphy Hollimon (Brad), Ashley Combs Chambers (Michael), David Harrell, Mary Kelley McKinney (Jon), Julia C. Kelley, Felecia Smith (Darran) and Kim White, and great-grandchildren; Murphy, Madelynn, Lilly, Sophia, Georgia, Jackson, Reaid, Jacob, Rhett, Riggs and Charlotte.

The family would like to express their love and appreciation to their extended family, and their mother’s loving caregivers, Littie Bush and Louise’s Sitter Service.

Visitation will be held at Radney Funeral Home-Dauphin Street on Friday, March 20, 2020 from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home chapel beginning at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Magnolia Cemetery, Virginia Street, Mobile. AL
