Cheryl "Cherri" Deitz Stanford

Cheryl "Cherri" Deitz Stanford passed away Saturday, December 10, 2011, surrounded by her adoring family. As a fighter, she finally won her battle over illness by entering into Heaven's gates. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and most of all, friend. She gained the love and respect of innumerable people during her working years and thereafter. She was a devout Catholic and an active member of Little Flower Parish. Cherri always had a special place in her heart for animals of all kinds. She was preceded in death by her brother, Christopher Deitz; father, RV Deitz; brother, Richard "Rick" Deitz; and mother, Charlotte "Lottie" Deitz. She is now a guardian angel to her son, Judson Kennedy; daughters, Anna Stanford and Amanda (Paul) Tefft; and grandchildren, Natalie and Samuel Tefft. She also leaves behind her sister, Catherine Merriam of Mobile; brother Stephen (Kim) Deitz of Atlanta GA; sister-in-law, Barbara Deitz; sister, Deborah (Mark) Lyons of Mobile; and sister, Cynthia (Perry) Printz of Mobile. She was an amazing aunt to Mark Merriam, David (Donna) Merriam, Sara Deitz, Diana (John) Mason, Daniel Deitz, Richard Deitz, Bobby Deitz, Christen (Anthony) Midgette, Jeffrey Lyons, Emily Printz, and Matthew Printz. She deeply treasured spending time with her great- nieces and nephew. We cannot begin to thank Dr. Maher Sahawneh and Dr. Michael Meshad along with their staff for their continued support and care. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from Little Flower Catholic Church on Tuesday, December 13, 2011, at 12 Noon. with Reverend John G. Lynes as Celebrant. The family will see visitors beginning at 10:00 a.m. and the Rosary will be recited at 11:00 a.m. at the church. She will be laid to rest in Pine Crest Cemetery.
