A native of Duluth, Minnesota and long time resident of Mobile, passed away on June 27, 2013. He is survived by his daughter, Mary Ann Voloshik, his son and daughter in-law, James J. (Joe) and Connie Voloshik; five grandchildren, Michael J. Voloshik , Matthew J. Voloshik, Mary Elizabeth Scott, Joy Howard Kittrell (Michael W., Jr.) and Brian Alan Howard (Angie) . Six great-grandchildren: Kaitlin, Kennedy, and Karsen Voloshik, Savanah Grace Scott, Michael W. Kittrell, III, and Zoey Alexis Howard; extended family members, Lauren McCollum and David Stoll.
Mr. Voloshik was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served in WWII in both the Pacific and Atlantic theaters.
Mr. Voloshik served as a volunteer at Providence Hospital, Little Sister’s of the Poor, and as an active member of St. Dominic Catholic Church here in Mobile, Alabama.
Mr. Voloshik has chosen to donate his body for medical research with the Anatomical Gift Program with the University of South Alabama.
A mass in his memory to be held at St. Dominic Catholic Church at a later date.
