Christine Wheat Hicks

Christine Wheat Hicks - A 78 year-old native of Gordo, AL and a longtime resident of Mobile, passed away at Allen Memorial Home on Tuesday, December 7, 2010. Sister Hicks was a longtime member of Orchard Assembly of God with a love for teaching children and the women's ministry of the church. She was preceded in death by her husband of almost 50 years, Bennie Eudell Hicks; and her sister, Josephine Austin. Survivors include four children, Patricia (Alfred) Davis of Semmes, Gene Hicks of Mobile, Bobby Hicks, and Ricky Hicks, of Pensacola, FL; five grandchildren, Krishna (Stewart) Jefcoat, Aundrea Davis, Amanda (Michael) Goins, all of Semmes, Jason Hicks and Kendra Hicks; four great-grandchildren, Treven Cink, Evelyn Jefcoat and Allie Goins; her brother, Lloyd (Donna) Wheat of Searcy, AR; her brother-in-law, Hubert Austin; other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home on Friday, December 10, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Interment will be in Valhalla Memorial Gardens. The family would like to thank the Allen Memorial Home staff and administration for their care and support during her last years.
