Christopher Paul Shires

Chris was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy J. Toland; his maternal grandparents, Marie & Raymond Coffman and his paternal grandfather Rev. Fred J. Toland.

He is survived by his son, Hunter A. Shires (Sierra) and daughter, Macie B. Shires (Connor Headrick); his grandson, Bentley A. Shires; Father Steve J. Toland; sister Kimberly A. Lee (Michael); Grandmother Eleanor Toland; as well as many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and friends.

Chris’s interests and hobbies reflected his playful, adventurous spirit and love of the outdoors. He enjoyed exploring in the woods, paddle boarding out at Dauphin Island or any body of water, fishing anywhere he could, and watching Alabama football. He was so proud of and loved his kids more than anything and enjoyed spending any time with them, and for this past year just hanging out with his new best little buddy, his only grandson, Bentley.

His family and friends will cherish the memories of his spirited, daring soul and his endless and crazy ways of making us all laugh.

The family will have a private event to celebrate his beautiful life. “In the silence of absence, the echoes of love resonate forever.”
