Mr. Christy L. Calametti, Sr. - a native and lifelong resident of Mobile, AL died Sunday, August 5, 2012 in a local hospital. Mr. Calametti was the longtime owner of Calametti Service Center on Dauphin Island Parkway. He was a 1947 graduate of McGill Institute and a U. S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus Council 666, and a longtime member of a local mystic society. Mr. Calametti was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Norma S. Calametti; his parents, Charles J. Calametti, Sr. and Christina Imsand Calametti; and seven siblings. He is survived by four sons, Chris (Beth) Calametti, Danny (Robin) Calametti, David Calametti, and Tim (Madeline) Calametti; one daughter, Jean (Norm) Glover, all of Mobile, AL; twelve grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Beatrice Calametti of Mobile, AL and Eileen Santa Cruz of Fairhope, AL; and one brother-in-law, Robert L. Santa Cruz of New Orleans, LA. The family will receive friends from 5 P.M. until 8 P.M. on Wednesday, August 8, 2012 with the Rosary at 7 P.M. at Radney Funeral Home, Dauphin Street. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 A.M. on Thursday, August 9, 2012 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with visitation one hour prior to the service at the Church. Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery.
