Clark Young Hall III
August 31, 1937 – October 26, 2020
Clark Young “Corky” Hall, III – a resident of Mobile, AL and a member of Montgomery Hill Baptist Church, passed away on Monday, October 26, 2020, at the age of 83. Born in Mobile, AL on August 31, 1937, he attended Leinkauf Elementary School, Murphy High School, and the University of Alabama. On December 4, 1954, Corky exchanged wedding vows with Barbara Louise Cryer. Mr. Hall was employed by ICG Railroads for 30 years, before embarking on a career with Contel Cellular – where he was recognized for his achievements with the Tower Award for General Manager of the Year in 1988. Mr. Hall returned to Mobile to consummate a lifelong dream of owning his own business, establishing Frascati Shops, Inc. in 1992, an AAR M-1003 certified railcar repair shop that services railroads and railcar equipment leasing companies in the U.S. In 1995, Frascati Shops, Inc. received “The Future 30” Small Business Award from the Mobile Area Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Hall’s expertise included certifications in transportation and traffic management, and M-1003 certifications by the Association of American Railroads. He was a member of the Mobile Area Chamber of Commerce, Gulf Mobile, and Ohio Railroad Historical Society. He was named Honorary Harbor Master for the Port of New Orleans in 1985. Mr. Hall was preceded in death by his parents, Clark Young Hall, Jr. and Julia Planck Hall. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Barbara Cryer Hall; one daughter, Barbara H. Flowers (John); son, Clark Y. Hall, IV (Linda); four grandchildren: Amy Thompson, Alicia Berga, Jeffrey Hall, and Kristen Hall; three great-grandchildren: Alec Dvorak, David Berga, and Madison Berga; one brother, Daniel O. Hall (Ellen); sister, Julia Lake Hall; and other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Montgomery Hill Baptist Church, c\o John McGuire, 13425 McGuire Road, Stockton, Alabama 36579.
