

Clebert Gordon Swanger, age 81, of Daphne, passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at his home. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Ann Yonker Swanger; two sons, David Gordon Swanger and Kevin Bryan Swanger and his wife Micole Hutchison Swanger; a grandson, Dominic Swanger; thre sisters-in-law, Carol Lee Swanger, Carol Wren Swanger, and Linda Swanger Montgomery; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel Clebert Swanger and Minnie Benton Bryan Swanger; his first wife of 35 years, Shirley Ann Swanger; and four brothers, Jessie Swanger, John Swanger, Phillip Swanger, and Frank Swanger. Mr. Swanger was a veteran of the United States Army and worked for L&N/CSX Railroad for 43 years. He graduated from Emma Sansom High School in Gadsden, AL Class of 1952 and attended the University of South Alabama. He was a scoutmaster, an Eagle Scout, and was raised in a devout Methodist home. The visitation will be Saturday, June 11, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Radney Funeral Home, Mobile. A graveside funeral service will be held Sunday at 1:00 p.m. at Bayview Memorial Park, Pensacola. Mr. John Davis will officiate.
