

Clement Riley Boney, 90, passed away at his home in Mobile, Alabama on Tuesday, March 1, 2022. He was born to Lee Boney and Clemorse Campos Boney on January 11, 1932 in Biloxi, Mississippi. Clement worked as a Nurseryman with Brodies in Biloxi, MS, which cultivated a lifelong love of grafting and making things grow. He always maintained a beautiful garden and tended multiple fruit trees. Clement served with the United States Army from 1950-1952, during which time he bravely fought in the Korean War as a part of Field Artillery. After completing his commitment to the Army, he served with the U.S. Coast Guard Reserves for several years. In August of 1954, he married the love of his life, Anne Kuppersmith Boney, with whom he would share 58 wonderful years of marriage before her passing in 2012. Clement continued his service to his country by working and eventually retiring from the Civil Service. He was a Fourth Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus. Clement was a very devoted parishioner – he participated in all of the Church events and attended Mass every day. He loved living on the Bay, and enjoyed fishing, crabbing, and being outside. Clement was also a New Orleans Saints fan, and loved attending games.
Clement was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Anne Boney; his daughter, Antonia Marie Boney; his only son, Clement Riley Boney, Jr.; grandson, Clement R. Boney, III; parents, Lee and Clemorse Boney; two sisters, Eulalie Balius of Perkinston, MS and Joyce Thibodeaux of North Biloxi, MS; three brothers: J.C. Boney of Taylor, TX, Lee G. Boney of North Biloxi, MS, and Dennis Russell Boney of D’Iberville, MS; and son-in-law, Michael L. Brown.
He leaves to cherish his memories his three daughters: Leisa Boney (Peter) Tanner of Dauphin Island, Ginger Boney Brown of Loxley, and Pam Boney (Auby) Smith of Pensacola, FL; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Rosalie Fisher of Saucier, MS; one brother, John R. Boney of North Biloxi, MS; daughter in-law, Ruth B. Boney; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other cherished family and friends.
Visitation for Clement will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2022 from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Pine Crest Funeral Home on Dauphin Island Parkway in Mobile. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. at our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, located at 1621 Boykin Boulevard, Mobile, AL 36605. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery.
