Connie was born on the Fourth of July in 1953 to James Douglas Dobbs and Ouida Mae Jesup Dobbs in Mobile, Alabama. She was a graduate of Vigor High School, Class of ’71, and attended the University of South Alabama. Connie owned Tiffani’s Arts and Crafts, a small business in Chickasaw, Alabama, for twenty years. She was the State Director of the American Lung Association in Mobile for sixteen years.
In her younger years, Connie enjoyed spending time on Dauphin Island. She had spent a lot of time on the Island as a child, and loved fishing, boating, and skiing with her family. It was always a place of happiness for as long as she could remember. Connie was a member of multiple Mystic Societies and was the president of the Etruscans Mystic Society. Being born on the Fourth of July, she was extremely patriotic – especially with her husband and love of her life being born on Presidents’ Day.
Connie had a big heart and adored her family. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, who lovingly referred to her as “Nana”. Connie always enjoyed holidays and seeing the enjoyment everyone had of being together. She was a founding member of the Dobbs Christmas Eve Party – which has been going on for well over 50 years. Connie also enjoyed traveling with family and friends.
Her faith in Jesus Christ was the center of her life. Connie was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Chickasaw. She held her faith close, and spent her life being a witness to the Lord.
Connie was a faith-filled, loving wife, mother, Nana, and friend, and will be greatly missed.
Connie was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 52 years, Frank C. Sullivan, Jr.; two sons, Frank C. Sullivan, III (Christine Murray Sullivan) and Bradley Dobbs Sullivan (Lyndsey Tillery Sullivan); grandchildren: Grant Douglas Sullivan, Ella Claire Sullivan, Lucille Grace Sullivan, Karsyn Wayne Miles, and Dylan Cruz Sullivan; sisters, Sandy Dobbs Brown (James Walker Brown “Jim”) and Judy Dobbs Lewis (George Byrd Lewis, III); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other cherished family and friends.
Visitation for Connie will be held Friday, June 19, 2026, from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. at Pine Crest Funeral Home on Dauphin Island Parkway in Mobile, with a Celebration of Life immediately following in the chapel.
