

Cyrus Benjamin Gates, age 36, passed away suddenly on Monday, August 22, 2016. He is preceded in death by his grandfathers, Leo K. Gates and H. H. "Buddy" Jordan and father-in-law, Eligie Truman Pridgen. Cy is survived by his wife, Leslie Pridgen Gates, parents Bob and Deborah Gates, children; Cadence Dominica Gates, Leslie Paige and Carley Elizabeth Morris , sister, Allyson Gates Thompson, nephew, Nolan Ryan Thompson and niece, Laney Nicole Thompson. He is also survived by his grandmother, Annette Jordan, mother-in-law, Brenda Daw Pridgen, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jason and Cindy Dobbs and their son, Brady, uncles, Bill Gates and Steve Jordan, exceptional family members, Butch and Coleen Kennedy, and many other family members and friends. Cy had been employed in the family business H. H. Jordan Construction since he was 14 years old. He was a graduate of Mary G. Montgomery High School where he played football. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing and hunting He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle and boating. Visitation will be held at Radney Funeral Home on Friday, August 26, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. A celebration of life will be held in the funeral home chapel beginning at 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family request memorial donations be made in Cy's memory to the Wounded Warrior Project, www.woundedwarriorproject.org of P.
