Daisy Swindull Wade, longtime resident of Mobile, Alabama died peacefully in her home on July 4, 2022 surrounded by her family members. She is preceded in death by her husband Joseph Allerdeen Wade, Sr. and son Joseph Allerdeen Wade, Jr..
Mrs. Wade is survived by two sons, James Edward Wade and John Thomas Wade and wife Bettye Carlisle Wade. She is also survived by her granddaughter Shelby Ann and two great-granddaughters, Lileigh Ann Delcambre and Daisy Alexandria Wade, three brothers, Lamar Swindull of Atlanta, Georgia, Henry Swindull of Pensacola, Florida, Richard Nichols of Mobile, Alabama and sister, Dorothy Nichols of Mobile, Alabama. Numerous nieces, nephews and many loving friends also survive her.
Mrs. Wade was a faithful member of the United Methodist Church on Springhill Avenue for over fifty years. She served on many committees, and especially enjoyed serving on the Visitation Committee. Her duties were to make personal visits to the sick, send get-well cards and make phone calls to those who could not attend services. She was also very talented in sewing, crocheting and baking. She was famously known for her pound cakes and pecan pies. She loved to travel and made many trips with friends to scenic sites here in America, and made several trips abroad. She will be sadly missed by Roxy, her faithful little dog, who was a loving companion to her for the past eleven years.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Pine Crest Funeral Home, 1939 Dauphin Island Pkwy. with graveside services immediately following in Pine Crest Cemetery.
