

Danny was a graduate of Ben C. Rains High School and served his country in the United States Navy for 4 tours in the Vietnam War. He was a member of Riverside Baptist Church. He worked for the Atomic Energy Commission on Johnston Atoll and then East Bay, Louisiana Oil Field as a maintenance supervisor. Danny enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hunter.
He is preceded in death by his sons, Daniel Rudolph McPhail Jr. and David Harry McPhail and his parents, Rudolph and Pearl Bernice McPhail.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 ½ years, Frances Louise McPhail; daughter, Mary Elizabeth McPhail; granddaughters, Ashley Michelle McPhail and Brynleigh Skye McPhail; great granddaughters, Scarlett Rayne McPhail-Woods and Seren Mae McPhail; 3 very special cousins, Juanita Bemis, Bobbi Bemis and Lona Lipscomb-Phillips, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Services will be held on Friday, February 20, 2026 at Radney Funeral Home, 3155 Dauphin St. Mobile, AL 36606 with a visitation from 10:00 am until 11:00 am; followed by a graveside service with military honors at Pine Rest Cemetery, 16541 US-Hwy 98, Foley, AL 36535.
Danny was a ‘True Southern Gentleman’ and all the things that make a real man – Character, Integrity, Honor, Duty, Humility and Respect. He had a ‘Servants Heart’, always extending kindness to others. He treated others with warmth and consideration.
