

David Wayne Faggard – a native and lifelong resident of the Mobile area died peacefully at home after a courageous battle with cancer. His long employment history began at age 16 with Giddens & Rester Theatres, then WKRG TV. He joined the Mobile Fire Department in 1975 initially as a firefighter, then as a paramedic where he attained the rank of Captain. After retirement from the Fire Department, he began another career as an instructor with the University of South Alabama Emergency Services Division in the Continuing Education Department. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Evelyn Claire Faggard, his parents, Warren K. and Evelyn G. Faggard. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Nathalie Steadman Faggard; daughter, Stephanie F. (Simon) Webber, son, Dr. Jeffrey David (Brooks Miller) Faggard; twin grandchildren, John (Jack) Miller Faggard and Abigail Claire Faggard; brothers, Carl (Nora) Faggard, Arnette (Faye) Faggard, Paul (Lynn) Faggard, and Steven Faggard; mother-in-law, Claire V. Steadman; brothers-in-law, Charles (Gail) Steadman, Philip (Peggy) Steadman, Dr. Edmund (Nyla) Steadman, and Joseph (Linda) Steadman; sisters-in-law, Mary Seelhorst, Georgene (Nick) Nichols, Kathleen Swindle, Patricia (Phillip) Bates, and Dr. Susan (Joseph) Sweeney; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church on Tuesday, March 27, 2012, at 10 a.m. Visitation will be at Radney Funeral Home on Monday, March 26, 2012, from 5-8 p.m with the Rosary recited at 7 p.m. In his last effort to battle the disease, he is donating his body to the USA College of Medicine. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to the USA Mitchell Cancer Institute, 307 University Blvd. N., TRP Bldg. III, Ste. #2150, Mobile, AL 36688-0002.
