In 1975, David married the love of his life Beverly Andrews.
David loved life- He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and animals, especially his fur babies. The most treasured time in David’s life was spending time with family and watching football with his nephews. David was great family man and hard worker; He was a welder and pipe fitter for the Mobile County Government.
David Glen Maples was preceded in death by his parents, Julius Maples and Pauline Prine Maples; sisters, Eleanor Powell and Brenda Capps, and one brother, Julius “Bubby” Maples, Jr, who all welcomed him into his heavenly rest.
Loving memories of David will be shared by his wife of fifty-one years, Beverly Andrews Maples; Daughter, Melissa Lynn Maples; Siblings: David Wayne Rester, Mary Ann West, Cecelia Ann Odom, Thomas Maples, Laronda Andrews, and Cindy Emge and a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing.
The family will receive friends for a public visitation, Wednesday September 30, 2026, at Radney Funeral Home (3155 Dauphin Street, Mobile, Alabama) from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Funeral Service will be Thursday, October 1, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Radney Funeral Home (3155 Dauphin Street, Mobile, Alabama). Graveside Service will take place following the chapel service at Valhalla Memorial Gardens (8730 Sims Road, Eight Mile, Alabama).
