His twin, Donna, predeceased him and one brother died young. It was pretty hectic living in a two room cabin and David ran the streets making friends everywhere. At one point, an artist carved a statue of him in stone as a young boy and it is on a beach in Rhode Island. He is sitting down, chin in hand and elbow on bent knee, and the artist called it "The Thinker". At 9 years David got his first gun and he was hunting very young. His family was poor and David went out and fished too and brought home eels, flounder, etc. to feed the family. He trapped for lobsters, went clamming and they ate good thanks to David because they would have starved without him. David dropped out of school in the seventh grade and went to work for awhile. He had a job at the electric boat in Connecticut. On his 17th birthday he hitchhiked to the bus stop to catch the bus going to the recruitment office and joined the navy. His first tour was the 67 days war and he went to Egypt. On the boarding party with mortar shells and IUD,s falling everywhere, one exploded in front of him and his eardrums cracked and bled- It is in his military record. In spite of that he distinguished himself anyway and the officers wanted him to take special training. He said "Why Not??" So he went to Buds.....
David did 3 tours in Vietnam. He was all over Vietnam--he was there for Tet...Men he's talked to say Tet was a night of hell.... They were trying to protect the airport and were being bombed. Planes carrying wounded were flying out and new recruits were flying in. He went to Ming Chow, a real hot spot and survived. He was sent on jobs he wasn't supposed to come back from., but he came back, successful. Failure was Not an option for him. He flew a small plane around with the men you don't talk about. He called himself taxi service!!! After Vietnam he did more time in special ops doing special jobs. He went to the Ukraine. He had a coup with the National Academy of Sciences with the heads of their scientific community there, and they gave him an honorary degree of Dr. Morreau. He has one son and two daughters. His son owns his own trucking business and one daughter is a chemical engineer in Germany and the other is a piano teacher in Paris France.

I met David in October 1995 and we spent 27 years together. I never met anyone like David-- he was different. He was always doing something and always had big plans. He was very mysterious and I had to be on my toes to keep up with him. I felt like I was on a wild roller coaster ride. The first night I was out with him and he talked about himself -- I thought I was out with Rambo. He told me about his adventures. He had done 3 tours in Vietnam and he was very proud of it. He had connections to people of importance -- Admiral Mittendorf, George Bush, Sr., Ed Bridges and I said I didn't know any important people like that and he said that wasn't a problem for him -- was it a problem for me? I had to think about that for a second and I said no I guess not... I heard about how he snatched a Russian Submarine deep sea submersible out of Peru...with one Brit Special Ops. He got the sub out at 10 o'clock in the morning in broad daylight and was out in international waters before they even knew it was gone. We've had many good days and did almost everything together. We looked at yachts, big $300,000 houses with only a nickel in our pockets. He was always going to buy them when his money came in. He had plans and dreams. He had been more places and done about everything. He was into deep sea diving, he had been into a couple of businesses -- he could run every kind of heavy equipment -- he set dynamite in mines -- he knew about explosives -- he could fly a plane as well as build them -- he could repair cars, trucks, and hydraulic equipment -- it just got so I just said OK been there and done that. His favorite thing was being a gunsmith -- he was a walking talking encyclopedia of every gun antics and new and he knew the history of their development too. Not only did he know so much about guns but he could build, .repair, and restore them. His brain was like a sponge and it just soaked up everything. If he didn't know something -- he found out very shortly. There was no stopping him. About 2009 he developed a patent which hid the fire emission when a bullet is shot out of the barrel of a gun and he has 3 patents one domestic and two international. He also has a trade mark on a version of a bullet. On September 13, 2022, David was going to Florida to purchase a small plane kit which seats one or two people. At the bank he collapsed. Someone at the bank gave him CPR and the paramedics came after 20 minutes and rushed him to the hospital. He got better and I was hoping I could get him home soon. He was released to a rehab place and didn't make it for two days. God called him.
I am now laying him to rest with the honor and dignity he deserves for his devotion and patriotism serving his country fighting for our freedoms, life liberty and the pursuit of happiness, and the will to use our talents to their fullest .I am sending him off this day with all my love forever and ever.
