
David Powell Sisk Sr., 70, of Semmes, AL passed away on March 18, 2014. David, born in Mobile, AL on May 9, 1943, was preceded in death by parents James and Hazel Sisk and brothers Paul and Wayne Sisk. He graduated from CF Vigor High School and attended Georgia Institute of Technology, but received a Bachelor’s of Science in Electrical Engineering with a Minor in Physics from Auburn University. He married the love of his life Katherine Greenlee of Semmes, AL on May 27th, 1964. David enlisted in the United States Navy in 1965 and was a Lieutenent at the time of his Honorable Discharge in 1976. During the 11 years he spent in the Navy, David served on the USS Perry, USS Fort Snelling and the USS Independence. He completed nuclear propulsion school in 1968 which began a long and fulfilling career in the nuclear industry. David worked as an engineer at various nuclear facilities across the country such as Plant Hatch, Surrey, Turkey Point and Diablo Canyon. In 2011, he retired from the Nuclear Regulatory Commission in Washington, DC where he had been working as a physical scientist. David Sisk is survived by his wife of fifty years, Katherine Greenlee Sisk and his four children David Sisk Jr., Rebecca Miller, Anthony Sisk, and Natasha Pollock. He is also survived by his niece Renee Sisk and 9 grandchildren Katherine, Powell, Ashley, Nicholas, Jonathan, Benjamin, Joseph, Samuel and Kaila. All of whom loved him dearly and will miss him greatly. Funeral service will be held at 10 A.M. Friday, March 21, 2014, from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin Street. Visitation will begin one hour prior to service. Interment will follow at 12:30 P.M. in the Alabama State Veteran’s Cemetery, 34904 State Hwy. 225, Spanish Fort, AL.
