Born on September 2, 1947, in Mobile, David was a proud graduate of UMS Preparatory School, Class of 1965. He continued his education at Auburn University, earning a degree in Business Administration in 1970, and later received his master’s degree from the University of South Alabama in 1972. David dedicated many years of service to his community as Assistant Personnel Director for the Mobile County Personnel Board before retiring in 2001.
David was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend who found joy in the simple things he loved most. He enjoyed deer hunting, turkey hunting, fishing, spending time with family, playing bridge, and cheering on Auburn University athletics. After many cherished years of Lake Martin Life, he returned to the Gulf Coast to be closer to his grandchildren, who brought him immense happiness.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Jenny Winsor; his children, Clark Winsor (Emilie) and Webb Winsor (Chrissy); five grandchildren; two great - grandchildren; his sister, Nancy “Boo” Green (“Spanky”); and many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothea and Carlton Winsor; his mother- and father-in-law, Margaret and Lamar Mills; his sister-in-law, Judy Mills and a brother-in-law, Keith Mills.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 15, 2026 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Radney Funeral Home - Mobile, followed by burial at Spring Hill Graveyard, Mobile, Alabama.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donation be made to Shriners Children’s or your favorite charity.
David will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
