OBITUARY
Debra Anne Linder Linder Harrison
December 25, 1953 – March 9, 2013
Debra Linder Harrison, age 59, passed away in Mobile on March 9, 2013 after a long, hard fought, battle with cancer. A celebration of Debbie’s life will be held at Corpus Christi Catholic Church at 12:00 noon, March 13, 2013. Visitation with family and friends will be held at 11:00am prior to the service.
Debbie was born on December 25, 1953 in Louisville KY and moved to Mobile with her family during childhood. She graduated from Shaw High School in 1971 and obtained a degree in Finance from the University of South Alabama. She also graduated from the Banking School of the South at Louisiana State University.
Debbie began her 40 year banking career working part-time in the Proof and Transit Department at the First National Bank of Mobile while attending college. After graduation, she started in Credit Analysis. Debbie was promoted to a Commercial Loan Officer, and after First National merged with AmSouth Bank, she continued to assume more responsibility. Debbie’s dedication and hard work helped to break the glass ceiling for women in banking. Debbie joined Whitney National Bank in 1995, and as a member of the bank's management team, she was instrumental in growing the Whitney's presence in Alabama, Mississippi and Florida. During her tenure with Whitney, Debbie served in several roles, including Commercial Banking Manager, Head of Credit Administration, and as Consumer Banking Manager. Throughout her career, Debbie was greatly respected and admired by her customers and coworkers alike. She distinguished herself with integrity, a strong work ethic and a very steady demeanor. Debbie was fair minded, intuitive and everyone who worked with Debbie appreciated her warm and generous heart. She finished her career as Executive Vice President of Credit Administration at Whitney National Bank.
Debbie was very active in the Mobile community, having been on the Board of Directors of the McGill-Toolen Booster Club, participating with Big Brothers / Big Sisters and the March of Dimes and becoming a graduate of Leadership Mobile. Debbie was also an avid University of Alabama supporter. Debbie was a long time member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church.
Debbie was preceded in death by her parents Thomas Grayson Linder and Tharon Flora Linder. She is survived by her husband of 28 years, William Norville Harrison; two sons, Thomas Norville Harrison (Melissa) of Mobile and William Peyton Harrison of Tuscaloosa; one sister, Susan Linder Knight (Tim), of Daphne, thirteen nieces and nephews, other relatives and many very devoted friends. Debbie was an awesome wife, mother, and friend.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions may be made to McGill-Toolen Catholic High School, Corpus Christi Catholic Church Building Fund, or St. Francis Catholic Church on campus at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, AL.

I can only take consolation in knowing her pain and suffering are over.
