Don Farrell Dedrick Sr.

Don Farrell Dedrick, age 65, a longtime Mobile resident, passed away on Friday, June 29, 2012. A veteran of the US Air Force, Don worked in Information Technology and Software Development for 25 + years with Illinois Central Gulf Railroad and Northrop Grumman. He was an avid fisherman, a dedicated father and a devoted fan of the University of Alabama. He was preceded in death by his wife of 36 years, Wilda Downey Dedrick. He leaves three children to cherish and honor his memory: Gwen Dedrick McCoy (Scott), Amy Dedrick Peterson (Mike) and Don Farrell Dedrick, Jr. (Tara). He was a beloved PawPaw to four grandchildren: Vance Farrell Peterson, Hayden Gray McCoy, Eli David McCoy, and Sofia Victoria Dedrick. He is survived by one brother and many other loving relatives. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 2, 2012 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Monday 12:00 PM until service time at the funeral home. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to the the Alzheimer’s Foundation of the South, 5644 Girby Road, Mobile, AL 36693.
