Dorie Gay

Mrs. Gay was a devout member of Cottage Hill Baptist Church, Mobile, Alabama. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, her great grandchildren and family. Mrs. Gay loved baking cookies using her old family recipes and reading. She was a fanatic Atlanta Braves fan and an avid fan of the Crimson Tide.

Mrs. Gay is preceded in death by her husband, Ellis Louis Gay; her parents, Luther Russell and Dora Cooper Stanley; her siblings, Roswell, Wallace, Max Stanley and Sara Ann Winberry.

Survivors include her sons, Christopher (Jaqueline) Gay and Russell (Marion) Gay; grandchildren, Chad (Meredith) Gay and Ashley Gay; great grandchildren, Hollon, Ava Scott and Brooks Gay; a brother Donald (Rusty) Stanley and a host of nieces and nephews.

A private family graveside service will be held on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in Mobile Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the American Cancer Society, St. Jude’s or a charity of your choice.
