Doris Jean Elder

Doris Jean Elder, 84, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, March 15, 2025. She was born in Winfield, Alabama on February 23, 1941, to Elvedus and Eulene Miles. Doris loved her family and always put God first. She was a loving Christian woman. She enjoyed painting, bird watching, singing in the choir, quilting, fishing and enjoyed her grand dog, Clover. (She loved Clover!)

Doris was preceded in death by her husband, John Elder; parents; sister-in-law, Cathi Evans; and brothers-in-law, Sam Elder and Billy Lassiter.

She is survived by daughter Jennifer Ryan (Paul); grandchildren, Justin McMann (Hannah), Brittany McMann (Justin), Kellie Ryan and Kayla Ryan; great-grandchildren Zander, Emersyn, Waylon, Paisley, Ryder and AJ; sister, Linda Lassiter; brother, Larry Evans; sisters-in-law, Faye Elder and Bonnie Elder (Leslie); brother-in-law, Leslie Elder (Bonnie); nieces, Debbie Lassiter, Tammy Elder, Brooke Engle (Shawn); nephews, Kenneth Lassiter (Angela) Mark Elder (Raina), Keith Evans (Christy), Jimmy Norwood (Candace), Michael Elder (Cindy); as well as other cherished family and friends.

Visitation for Doris will be held on Friday, March 21, 2025, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Pine Crest Funeral Home on Dauphin Island Parkway in Mobile, with a chapel service immediately following. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery.
