Dorothea Ann Mahrt of Biloxi, Mississippi died Sunday, November 29, 2020 at SAAD Hospice in Mobile, Alabama. She was born May 14, 1945 in Biloxi, MS to the late Albert and Dorothea Wetzel. She married Delmar Mahrt (deceased) on December 19, 1975.
Dorothea was a resident of Mobile, AL for over 30 years, where she raised her four children. Dorothea is survived by her four children: David (Kristin), Kristian (Alexis), Nikolaus (Maureen), and Alexandra (Brandon) Butts. She is also survived by her four grandchildren: Maya, Emma, Brigham, and Leighton, as well as her sister Roberta Brown.
Dorothea dedicated her life to serving God and others, first as a nun and then as a nurse. She was a truly selfless person who would do anything for her children and those she loved. She was a devoted mother and friend, with a smile and that could always light up a room and a sense of humor that would brighten anyone’s day. She will be missed greatly, remembered always, and loved forever.
