Dorothy Ann Benson, age 79. A native of Northport, Alabama and a longtime resident of Mobile, Alabama went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 21, 2012. She was a member of Cottage Hill Baptist Church and a retired Principal with Cottage Hill Baptist School. Preceded in death by her daughter, Patricia Cheryl “Patti" Benson. She is survived by her husband of 57 years James Jerry Benson; daughter, Jerri Ann (Jeff) Hester and two grandchildren, Blake and Emily. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday 24, 2012 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Wednesday 12 noon until service time at the funeral home. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Cottage Hill Christian Academy.
