Dorothy Hicks Manning

Dorothy Hicks Manning, 91,died peacefully Thursday, July 6, 2017, at the home of, and in the presence of, her daughter and son-in-law, Tavi and Greg Kotis in Spanish Fort, AL. Dot was a native Alabamian, having been born at Land, AL, on May 23, 1926. She finished high school at Southern Choctaw High in Silas in 1946 and moved to Mobile, AL to work at Kress Dept. Store, later moving to International Paper Co., where she worked for 16 years. Dot married Riley E. Manning in 1955. She was predeceased by her parents, Hardy and Catherine Manley Hicks. Her husband, Riley Manning, died on July 26, 1984. A special friend, Frank Reese, predeceased Dot in 2007. In addition to her daughter and son-in-law, Dot is survived by many nieces and nephews, brother-in-law, Justice Manning (Evelyn), and sister-in-law, Mildred Manning. The funeral service will be held Monday, July 10, 2017 at Radney Funeral Home, 3155 Dauphin Street, Mobile, AL 36606, at 11:00 a.m. Visitation for family will be at 9 a.m. with friends’ visitation from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. at Radney’s. Interment will follow immediately at the Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 6100 Three Notch Rd., Mobile, AL 36619. Arrangements under the direction of Radney Funeral Home-Mobile, Mobile, AL.
