She married Joseph A. Vogtner, Jr. on April 1, 1947 and remained happily married for more than sixty years. She was a born again Christian and a charter member of the First Independent Methodist Church and was employed at the church for eleven years.
Dorothy (Dot) was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph, an infant son, Ronald, a brother, Alfred, sisters Irene, Ethel and Louise, and by her parents, Alfred and Irene Mandeville.
She is survived by her son, Robert (Gail) Vogtner, and three grandchildren, Jonathan Vogtner (Florida), Ashley Vogtner (Florida), and Andrea Vogtner (Nevada), step-grandchildren, Kelley (Kevin) Williamson and Jenny James, and Great-grandchildren, Dante and Juliet Vogtner. She had numerous nieces and nephews, but experienced a particularly loving relationship with Aiden McWhirter, a great-grandnephew, whom she came to love greatly.
