I am so sorry to hear of Doug's passing. Doug swore me into the 711th National Guard. I enjoyed his company, friendship and listening to him play. I am the guy who bought his 1977 El Camino long ago. I never got the chance to show him how I honored his wish to keep the car as original as possible and black. He would have been happy to know his car won 1st in class at this years Camellia Classic. His many friends will miss him greatly.

Toyou and all the Family and Friends, with whom you and Doug have shared your many years of togetherness, I extend my Prayer and Love at this time of most need. Loosing a loving, careing Husband, Father, and/or Friend of many years is a very heavy task to burden, but with Strength through your Faith in God, will positively carry you thru these and other heavy heart times. Many years ago you and Doug survived the tragic loss of a son,....Doug was with you then, you both shared in that heartbreaking event and with your Faith, moved forward.
Doug is and will always be with you spiritually, so stand tall, walk together, ready to accept any and all challenges God sends forth, to strengthen our Love for Him.
Peggy being my 1st. cousin, I have known Doug for 63+ years I can firmly state, his Heart was larger than his physical body. He was always a very caring, helpful individual. I was fortunate to see Doug at the Friendly Sons celebration this year. As usual, conversation with Doug was up lifting.
Remember, you are never alone .... Just reach out, He will take your hand and lead you or carry you.
Love and Prayer,
Jim & Mary O'Fonnell
