

Earl Richard Ponquinette “Coot”, born February 18, 1932, died December 22, 2016. Earl was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest A. and Myrtle Parker Ponquinette; and a brother, Ernest Ponquinette Jr. Remaining to share memories is the mother of his children, Lauretta J. Ponquinette; his children Cheryl P. Young (Stanley), Dr. Ritchie P. Dulaney (Calvin), Earl R. Ponquinette Jr. , and Darryl Ponquinette; grandchildren, Tiana, Isaiah, Joshua, Sochi, Xavier, Shylin, Paul, Morgan, Calvin, Ariel, Dylan, Sasha, Brandon and Latoya; three great-grandchildren; and siblings, Norma Bourgeois, Dr. Julia Joyner, Dr. Charles Ponquinette, Paula Jones, and Donald Ponquinette; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Earl served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Earl worked at Brookley Air Force Base as an airplane mechanic following its closure, he owned and operated Ponquinette’s Custom Cabinets. Earl was employed by the City of Mobile as a master Carpenter 25 years, he was also involved with real estate ownership and management.

Viewing will be held at Pine Crest Funeral Home on Dauphin Island Parkway on Saturday, December 31, 2016, from 1 p.m. until the funeral service at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Pine Crest Cemetery on Dauphin Island Parkway.
