

Edward Earl Case – an 89 year-old native and lifelong resident of Mobile passed away Saturday April 14, 2012. Mr. Case graduated from McGill Institute in 1942 and joined the United States Army, serving in the European Theater during World War II where his unit was involved in four amphibious assaults and six major battles. After the war, Mr. Case went to work as a plumber for his father at City Plumbing Company, becoming its owner and operator following his father’s death in 1963. He later retired from the Mobile County Board of Health as a Plumbing Inspector after many years of service. Mr. Case was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, a past-president of the Mobile Master Plumber’s Association, and loved hunting, fishing, and flying. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50years, Margaret “Mona” Case. Mr. Case is survived by his children, William E. Case (Carol) and Ramona Fontaine (Donald); grandchildren, Adam E Case (Katrin), John W. Case, Hayden E. Fontaine, and Hannah M. Fontaine; great-granddaughter, Lily Case; nephews, Dr. Steven Carter, Frank Carter, and Patrick Carter; other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin Street on Friday, April 20, 2012.
