Edward Earl “Shane” Cook was born May 31, 1961, to his parents Mamie Janette (Vincent) Cook and Bennie Cook in Prichard, Alabama. He departed this life on December 20, 2024, at St. Dominic Hospital, in Jackson Mississippi.
Edward was baptized at Macedonia Baptist Church in Prichard Alabama. He attended Vigor High School before entering the US Army in 1979. He served four years in the US Army as a Light Vehicle Mechanic/Power Generator. After departing the army, he lived in West Germany for 11 years. He was fluent in German speaking and writing, He also learned various trades including welding, and commercial truck driving. He worked for the German Department of Transportation. Shane enjoyed music, dancing and spending time with family.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his sister Juliette Cook and brothers Mark, Luke, Michael, Tommy, Don and Peter Cook. His children Monique and Larry McCarroll, Ebony Holcombe, and Terralisha Hatcher; grandchildren Aarion, Aurius, Amaziah, Janiyha, Zamariya, King, Zaden, Kabriauna, Taronald, Keonte, Heremiah, Larry Jr, Jazarah, and Xyphoria. A devoted wife of 18 years Connie Campbell Cook, and a host of other relatives and friends. Preceding his death are his mother and father.
Graveside services will be held in the Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery on Friday, January 24, 2025 at 1 p.m. Condolences may be offered at www.radneyfuneralhome-mobile.com.
