He grew up in the Catholic faith. Edward attended McGill High School and graduated in 1959. After high school, he attended Springhill College and graduated in 1963 Cum Laude. Edward served in the Army as a medic during the Vietnam War. After serving in the Army, he worked for Loyal American Life Insurance, a job that took him from Austin, TX and then to Cincinnati, OH. After he retired, he came back to Mobile to begin his great adventures with his grandsons. He was an avid golfer and a die-hard Alabama fan. He was a great arm-chair quarterback for the Crimson Tide. He also enjoyed many laughs with his lunch crew the TLC Club.
Edward was preceded in death by his mother Gertrude Dahmer and his father Carlisle Dahmer.
Edward is survived by his beloved daughters Deanne Connell and Kelly Hawkins; his beloved son Steven Dahmer;his loving son-in-law George Connell; his sister Carolyn Andrews; his grandsons Nicholas Pollara, William Pollara, Preston Pollara, & Blake de Lacer and his special friend Audry Patterson.
