Edward Luckett King, 69, of Mobile, Alabama passed away on Tuesday, October 5, 2021. He was a UMS graduate, Class of 1970. Edward then went on to attend the Marion Institute, Ole Miss, and the University of Alabama. After college, Edward began working in the maritime industry as a captain of shipping vessels in the Gulf. When he decided to start a family with his wife, Murray Johnson King, Edward went into Operations Management, a field in which he worked for over twenty years. He loved to hunt, fish, and sail around the family’s Point Clear house. Edward’s favorite Saturdays were spent surrounded by friends, watching Alabama football – with his famous lucky wings for everyone to enjoy.
Edward was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Murray Johnson King; son, Edward Luckett King, Jr; and parents, Dr. Robert Thomas King and Louise Robinson King.
He leaves to cherish his memory, two daughters, Louise Robinson King and Mary Hartley Monson; and two sisters, Allen King Lee and Mary Hartley King.
Visitation for Edward will be held at Pine Crest Funeral Home on Dauphin Island Parkway on Thursday, October 14, 2021 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m., with a graveside service immediately following in Pine Crest Cemetery.
