

Eleanor Thomas Pushcar, 82, passed away on June 12, 2017 in Fairhope, Alabama. Eleanor was born in Newport News, Virginia, on July 14, 1934, and was a member of the Newport News High School class of 1952. She also graduated as a Licensed Practical Nurse from Gulf Coast Junior College in 1970, and as a Registered Nurse in 1984 from Bishop State Junior College. Eleanor worked for Mobile Infirmary in the Labor and Delivery department for more than 20 years. She loved square dancing, traveling, and playing hammered dulcimer.
Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband, David J. Pushcar, her parents Archie and Eva Thomas, and sisters, Elsie and Ann. She is survived by her children Cathy (Kitt) Dandelakis, of Marietta, GA, Patti (Joe) Coxwell, of Meridian, MS, Barbara (John) Mohler, of Fairhope, AL, Tom (Mayte) Beacham of Colington, NC, Laura (Tom) Saul of Poulsbo, WA. , sister Evelyn (Pete) Hartman of Yorktown, Virginia. She is also survived by grandchildren John, Eleni, and Christian Dandelakis, Joanna Coxwell, John and Everett Mohler, Laura and David Beacham, and David Pushcar. Great-grandchildren are Samantha Mohler, Katrina Pushcar, David Pushcar, Nina Pushcar, and Dylan Pushcar.
Visitation will be held Sunday, June 18, 2017 from 1:00-2:00 p.m. with the funeral at 2:00 p.m. at Pine Crest Funeral Home in Mobile. Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army.
