

RN in the mental health field for many years. While a student at Murphy High School, she was a member of the band and earned a full music scholarship to Brevard Music Camp in North Carolina. She also earned a full scholarship from the University of Southern Mississippi and Louisiana State University (where she also attended) for her skill playing the trumpet.
She is preceded in death by her parents, John Torres, Jr., Eunice H. Torres, and a brother Michael John Torres. Left to cherish her memory are her three children, Gregory Richard Grady (Annette) of Mobile, Benjamin John Grady of New Caney, TX, Laura Grady Holloman (Neil) of Williamsport PA, seven grandchildren Brianna, Colin, Liam, and Ethan Grady, and Sean, Allison, and Brennan Holloman along with her two sisters Lois Harvey (Bill) of Biloxi, MS, and Jane T. Berry of Atlanta, GA.
Ellen loved to spend time with her family at the beach playing board games and sitting by the pool. She especially loved to spend any time with her children and grandchildren. Ellen also enjoyed watching LSU Tiger football.
A mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday, February 27 at Saint Pius X Catholic Church, 217 S. Sage Ave., Mobile, AL 36606 at 11 AM with visitation beginning at 10 AM. Interment to follow at Pinecrest cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Catholic Charities, Mobile Mental Health, the Arthritis Foundation of America, or the Lupus Foundation of America.
