Ellin Patricia Bexley
February 11, 1939 – February 11, 2020
Ellin Patricia Bexley, a native of Harrow, Middlesex, England and a resident of Mobile for over 50 years passed away on Feb 11, 2020. Her parents were Patrick Joseph and Mary Bridget (McGrath) Walsh. She met the love of her life, Dudley N Bexley, Jr., who was stationed at HQ 3rd Air Force USAF in England and happily married 62 years.Ellin (Eileen for family and older friends) stayed at home to raise our children until they were in their pre-teens (translation: after they learned the rules of manners, politeness, and other life lessons). She began the simpler task of working outside the home. Ellin volunteered her extra hours with the American Red Cross and provided English lessons at the local Okinawan school. Ellin worked at a fresh and artificial flower company that had world wide sales. She worked as executive secretary at Kershaw Manufacturing. Later she went to work for the Veterans Administration in Montgomery. After Dudley retired from the USAF, they moved to Dudley's home town of Mobile. Ellin started working for the US Treasury/IRS. She studied and worked hard to reach the pinnacle of her career. Ellin's real pride and joy was when she joined a Mardi Gras organization; a commitment she put her heart and soul into. She dearly loved it and received a high honor serving as the organization's 2013 Emblem. She is survived by her husband, Dudley, daughters, Deborah Bexley Spooner, Kim Michele Bexley and son, Dean Stuart Bexley, and daughter-in-law, Mishelle Nicole Bexley, grandchildren, Steven Hunter Morse, Stuart Alexander Morse and grand daughter-in-law, Alicia Jeanette Morse, and Sean Forrest Morse, Kara Nicole Bexley, Lauren Alyssa Bexley-Roy, grand son in law, Connor Roy, and great grandchildren, Ian Stuart Bexley, Ava Rachel Bexley, Adeline Jade Morse, Lorelei Rayne Morse, and one on the way. Ellin is also survived by her sisters, Nora Walsh Roberts and Mary Walsh Huggins, and brother, Jim Walsh. She was preceded in death by her parents, Patrick Joseph Walsh and Mary Bridget (McGrath) Walsh, brothers, Patrick Walsh, Michael Walsh, and John Walsh. Flowers or donation to Shriner's Childrens Hospital accepted.Visitation will be Friday, February 14, 2020 from 5-7pm at Pine Crest Funeral Home. The Memorial Service will be Saturday, February 15, 2020 at 2:30 pm at Pine Crest Funeral Home.
