
Elwood Glen Haab, age 69,who spent his early years in Coden, Al and the last 50 years as a resident of Mobile , died Friday, August 9, 2013, at home. He was preceded in death by his parents, Adam and Olivette Haab and sister Yvonne Keahey. He is survived by his wife, Karen Phillips; children David Keith Haab, Dr. Lisa McDonough and Glen Charles (Melissa)Haab of Monroeville, AL; grandchildren Alice Ann , Cole, Maggie, Megan and William; sister Sharon Scroggs-Coggin, brother Mickey (Jackie), nieces and nephews, an extended family and friends.
He was a graduate of Alba High School and University of Southern Mississippi. After graduation, Haab served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany before returning home to lead the family buisness, Mexican Gulf Fisheries. He later launched other business ventures such as Ali-Byes and CompuChild, while being an active member of two Mystic Societies. Haab spent his retirement years enjoying family, friends, traveling, fishing, and SEC sports.
A memorial service will be held at the Little Flower Catholic Church on Monday, August 12, 2013 at 4:00 P.M. Visitation will be held one hour preceding the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite animal shelter.
