"Emmagee" a native of Latham, Al, and resident of Mobile passed away at the age of 97 on December 8, 2022, after a brief illness. She is preceded in death by her parents, Peyton Randolph Bryars Sr. and May Hunt Bryars of Mobile, and her husband of 63 years John Calvin Black of Mobile. Emmagee was the youngest of 5, her siblings who preceded her in death were, Gussie Elizabeth Pennington (Julius), Mae Hunt McAllister (Raymond), Peyton Randolph Bryars Jr. (Doris), and George Randolph Bryars (Mary Elizabeth). Emmagee will be dearly missed by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Springhill Senior Residence and Dauphin Way Assisted Living for providing care for Emmagee in recent years. Services will be held at Pine Crest Cemetery on Dauphin Island Parkway in Mobile on Tuesday, December 27, 2022, with visitation at 11:00 am and Graveside service following at 12 noon. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation to Westminster Presbyterian Church in Mobile or your favorite charity in Emmagee's memory.
